We Take the Junk — But Not What Puts You at Risk
At Haul It Off Junk Removal, our two-man crew handles almost everything: old furniture, appliances, yard debris, construction material, rental cleanouts — you name it. We load it, haul it, and handle responsible disposal so you get your space back quickly and safely.
But for everyone’s safety and to comply with Augusta-area regulations, there are a few items we cannot remove.
Safety First — A Few Items We Can’t Haul
While our junk removal business serves a wide range of needs, there are certain items we cannot handle due to safety and legal restrictions, including:
- Hazardous Materials
- Flammable or Explosive Items
- Medical / Biohazard Waste
- Asbestos Materials
- Industrial Chemicals
- Automotive Hazard Items
- Pressurized Tanks
- Illegal or Restricted Items
We Don’t Take What’s Hazardous or Unsafe to Handle
We cannot remove anything that is hazardous, explosive, toxic, or requires specialized disposal/licensing. This protects your property, our team, and the environment.
1. Hazardous Materials
Hazardous materials include anything that poses a chemical, environmental, or contamination risk. Items such as paints, paint thinners, solvents, industrial chemicals, and contaminated soil require regulated facilities for disposal and cannot be hauled by a standard junk removal service. These substances can leak, react, or cause environmental damage if mishandled, which is why we do not collect them.
2. Explosive & Flammable Items
Any item that can ignite, combust, or explode must be handled by licensed hazardous waste professionals. Gasoline, diesel, kerosene, propane tanks, fireworks, and ammunition all fall into this category. These materials create significant risk during transport and disposal, so for safety reasons, they are not eligible for pickup through our regular junk removal service.
3. Medical & Biohazard Waste
We are not authorized to remove medical or biohazard waste of any kind. Items such as needles, sharps, used medical supplies, biological waste, and anything contaminated with bodily fluids require specialized containment and regulated disposal. To protect public health and comply with state requirements, we do not accept any form of medical or biohazard material.
4. Automotive Hazard Items
Certain automotive-related items contain chemicals or components that require special handling. Motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, car batteries, and some types of tires fall under restricted disposal categories. These items can leak hazardous fluids, spark, or cause contamination, so they must be taken to approved automotive recycling or disposal centers instead of being hauled with standard junk.
5. Illegal or Restricted Items
We cannot remove any items that are illegal to possess, transport, or dispose of. This includes illegal substances, stolen goods, weapons, or anything that requires law enforcement involvement or special permitting. For the safety of our team and compliance with Georgia laws, items in these categories are strictly excluded from our services.
Most people just want numbers, however, there are several factors involved in determining the cost of junk removal. Rest assured, we’ve dedicated ourselves to delivering a simple, informed junk removal experience for our customers.
